Alfa Romeo didn’t make many running changes to this generation of the Spider. In 1992, Alcantara was substituted for the vinyl trim used on 1991 door panels, and a trunk-mounted 12-disc CD changer became optional, while the color palette changed a bit in 1993, the last calendar year of Series 4 production.

The Milano was replaced by the Alfa Romeo 164 in 1990. It was the brand’s last rear-wheel drive sedan (until the new Giulia arrives in 2016) and the last model to be launched by Alfa Romeo as an independent company, before being taken over by Fiat (the 164 was the last to be developed independently, but was launched after the takeover).

My previous (I actually still have it) car, the GTV6 is awaiting another motor or new heads (timing slipped - valves bent) and will be back on the road this coming spring. It is second to the Milano in handling, but the full Ansa system is music to my ears. I await the reintroduction of the Alfa Romeo to the US.
